Very beautiful 925 silver ring composed of an extra quality raw dioptase cabochon of approximately 14mm x 9mm.

Dioptase is a mineral, copper cyclosilicate, transparent to translucent green. Its chemical formula is CuSiO3. H2O. It was René Just HAüy who described it in 1797, the name derives from the Greek “DIOPTEUEIN”.
The study on dioptase dates from the end of the 18th century on specimens from mines in Kazakhstan. Its color is close to that of emerald to the point of confusing it. It is an unusual mineral found on lead deposits where copper is present.
It is one of the minerals: Chrysocolla, fluorite, Malachite, Calcite, Cerusite, Mimetite, Qartz, Formacite, Hemimorphite, Wulfenite.
The main deposits are located in Russia, the USA, Chile, Zaire, the Republic of Congo and France (Lodéve, Rabejac, Hérault).
