Frequently asked questions about our jade necklaces

What's the difference between nephrite and jadeite in a necklace?

Nephrite is the most common form, a soft, opaque green, very resistant and ideal for everyday beaded necklaces. Jadeite is rarer, more translucent, with a sometimes brighter green (the famous "imperial green"). Both are true jade with similar properties in lithotherapy. Jadeite is more highly valued in fine jewelry, but nephrite is in no way inferior in terms of energy.

    How to spot real jade?

Genuine jade is cold to the touch and warms up slowly. It is dense and feels heavy for its size. Its surface is smooth and slightly greasy. Imitations made of glass, serpentine, or resin are lighter and warm up quickly. Sound is also an indicator: two pieces of genuine jade struck together produce a clear, musical chime. All our jade is natural and verified.

Can a jade necklace be worn as a symbolic gift?

It is even one of the most meaningful gifts in many cultures. In Asia, offering jade symbolizes protection, wisdom, longevity, and prosperity. In the West, it is a gift that is gaining popularity for births, weddings, and significant anniversaries. Gift pouch available upon request.

    Why wear a jade necklace?

The jade necklace is a piece of jewelry that carries 5,000 years of symbolism. In China, giving a jade necklace is a gesture with a much deeper meaning than a simple gift: it conveys protection, wisdom, and prosperity. Emperors of the Han dynasty were buried in jade shrouds sewn with gold thread, convinced that the stone would grant them immortality. Even today, throughout Asia, jade is passed down from mother to daughter and from grandfather to grandson. This deep, silky, opaque green, with its slightly oily feel and reassuring density, has something immediately noble about it. Worn as a necklace, jade naturally sits at the heart chakra, exactly where it works best.

In lithotherapy, the jade necklace is renowned for its properties of harmony, wisdom, and prosperity. Jade calms without inducing sleep, provides strength without abruptness, and supports sound decisions with serene lucidity. It is a stone recommended for those who bear responsibilities, who seek balance between ambition and serenity, or who wish to attract abundance into their lives. Jade pairs well with rose quartz (heart opening), amethyst (spiritual wisdom), or citrine (abundance and optimism). For maintenance, a rinse with clear water and recharging in moonlight or gentle sunlight suffice. With a hardness of 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale and, above all, exceptional toughness, jade is one of the most resistant stones; you can wear it every day without worry.
