Green kunzite was identified in the early 20th century by mineralogist George Frederick KUNZ in California. This fabulous stone belongs to the spodumene group and is composed mainly of lithium aluminum silicate. It is distinguished by its pink to pale green hue, resulting from the presence of impurities, particularly manganese.
