Collection: Moldavite

Moldavite is a fascinating gemstone, both rare and mysterious, that has attracted attention for centuries.

🔷 Origin

Moldavite is a tektite , a natural glass formed by the impact of a meteorite. It was formed about 15 million years ago when a huge meteorite fell in what is now southern Germany, in Nördlingen (Ries crater). The extreme heat and pressure of the impact melted the terrestrial rock, which was then thrown into the atmosphere. Upon falling, it solidified into this natural glass: moldavite.

🌍 Location

  • It is found almost exclusively in the Czech Republic , especially in the Bohemian region.

  • The deposits are very limited, which makes it rare and valuable .

🟢 Appearance

  • Color: Olive green to bottle green, sometimes with brown tints.

  • Texture: Often rough, with irregular shapes and natural surface ridges .

  • Transparency: Varies from translucent to almost opaque.

💎 Properties in lithotherapy

Moldavite is highly prized in the spiritual and esoteric fields for its power:

  • Transformation and personal evolution : it is supposed to accelerate spiritual growth.

  • Cosmic Connection : Considered a stone of extraterrestrial origin, it would help to connect to other planes of consciousness.

  • Protection : it would be a shield against negative energies.

  • Activation of the chakras : especially the heart and the third eye.

⚠️ Fakes and imitations

Due to its rarity, moldavite is often counterfeited , particularly with colored glass.
True Moldavites exhibit:

  • Natural internal bubbles.

  • A natural etched or rough structure, not too smooth.

  • A relatively high price (beware of "bargains").

Moldavite is a green mineral formed from a meteorite impact approximately 15 million years ago. It belongs to the group of tektites, a word which comes from the Greek "tektos", which means "to melt". Tektites formed during a meteorite impact when Earth sediments melted and were propelled into the air, where, when they cooled, they became glass. Tektites have been found on every continent except Antarctica and South America.
When tektite has an olive green color, it is valued moldavite, which is considered special for its low water content, difficult fusibility and chemical composition.

Most Moldavites were found in the Vltava Valley in southern Bohemia (Czech Republic). To a lesser extent, they have also been found in the Moravian region, and recently, a few in Austria.

Main deposits: Czech Republic, Germany, Moldova and Austria.

The Benefits: Moldavite is considered a high vibrational stone that enhances spiritual growth, perception, wisdom and connection with Mother Earth. Placing the eyebrows to meditate helps improve vision and interdimensional communication. It promotes the opening of the chakras, the cleaning of blockages and the alignment of energy.
