Rough malachite is a true natural spectacle. When cut or viewed on the surface, it reveals concentric green bands—from emerald green to almost black—layered on top of each other, formed by millennia of copper deposits. In its rough, unpolished state, malachite also exhibits a raw, earthy texture that has a lot of character.
In lithotherapy, many practitioners prefer to use it in this form: its intact natural structure is believed to promote even more effective absorption of negative energies than the polished version.
Placed in a living room, rough malachite purifies the atmosphere and supports periods of change. In an office, it helps maintain clear thoughts and gain perspective.
Held in the hand during meditation, it works on the heart chakra and facilitates emotional release. An essential maintenance point: malachite cannot tolerate salt, saltwater, or chemicals. Clean it with clear water only or by fumigation with white sage. Recharge it on a cluster of rock crystal or in moonlight.
