Rough sunstone is a piece of captured light within rock. In its natural form, this orange feldspar already reveals its characteristic golden and coppery flecks when turned in the light. The aventurescence is visible even without polishing, and each natural face of the stone offers a different play of reflections. Placed on a windowsill in the sun, a rough sunstone becomes a true light spectacle, with its micro-mirrors of hematite reflecting light in all directions. This is the same stone that Vikings carried on their longships to locate the sun on cloudy days, an application scientifically confirmed by researchers at the University of Rennes.
In lithotherapy, rough sunstone is considered the most direct form of this stone of joy. Its intact structure is believed to diffuse vitality, optimism, and inner light more intensely than the polished version. Placed in a living room, it warms the atmosphere and diffuses a joyful and positive energy throughout the space. On a desk, it stimulates self-confidence and motivation. Held in the hand during meditation, it activates the solar plexus chakra and the sacral chakra, reconnecting with the joy of life and creative drive.
