History:
Very interesting stone, which deserves to be distinguished from other varieties of agate. Moss agate is a rather special stone in that it is not an agate strictly speaking. It is, in fact, a colorless chalcedony, sometimes white, with inclusions of other chemical elements such as silicate (green), magnesium and iron oxide (brown to red), chlorite... These inclusions often give the impression that the crystal contains moss, hence the name of the stone.
