Mali Prehnite Bracelet A (Baroque Beads)

Beautiful Mali prehnite bracelet, composed of polished baroque beads with delicate shades of soft green, yellow-green and translucent green. Valued for its soft and luminous colours, prehnite can have small natural inclusions that enhance its mineral character. Variations in transparency, colours and irregular shapes of the stones make each bracelet unique.

This Grade A Mali prehnite bracelet is made of natural polished baroque-shaped stones. Prehnite is a mineral belonging to the silicate family. It is particularly recognizable by its soft tones, generally ranging from very light green, apple green and yellowish green. Some stones can be translucent and have a slightly milky appearance, while others have inclusions or more opaque areas. These natural variations give the bracelet a lot of character. The baroque beads have irregular shapes which allow for a more natural appearance than perfectly calibrated beads. With a length of approximately 17 to 18 cm, this elastic bracelet fits wrists measuring approximately 16 to 18 cm. Its light weight of approximately 7 g allows it to be worn comfortably every day. The shapes, patterns, inclusions, transparencies and shades of green can vary from one stone to another and from one bracelet to another. Each item is unique.

Virtues of Prehnite in lithotherapy

In lithotherapy, prehnite is traditionally associated with serenity, appeasement and inner harmony. It is said to be appreciated for symbolically promoting calm and helping to gain more perspective in stressful situations. Prehnite is also associated with letting go and intuition. It is said to be chosen to accompany periods during which one wishes to refocus and find more tranquility. It is also traditionally considered a stone that promotes organization and clarification of thoughts, which would explain its use during periods of change or when many decisions need to be made. Its green tones primarily associate it with the heart chakra, traditionally linked to harmony, emotions, compassion and relationships with others. The properties attributed to stones are derived from the traditions and beliefs of lithotherapy. They do not replace a diagnosis, treatment or medical advice.

What is Prehnite?

Prehnite is a calcium and aluminum silicate. It most often occurs in shades ranging from pale green to yellowish green, although other shades may exist. Its appearance can be transparent to translucent, with a generally vitreous to slightly pearly luster. Once polished, it often has a soft and luminous appearance particularly appreciated for making natural stone jewelry.

Why is Prehnite green?

The color of prehnite can vary from almost colorless to yellow-green and a more intense green. The different shades observed are notably linked to the composition of the mineral and the presence of certain elements in its structure. However, its soft, slightly yellowish green is the most characteristic color of prehnite used in jewelry.

Mali Prehnite

Mali is a known source in the mineral trade for certain prehnite specimens, particularly associated with different mineral formations. Cut and polished stones can display beautiful soft green to yellow-green tones as well as different degrees of transparency. Some prehnites can also contain dark inclusions, which create very beautiful contrasts with the light color of the stone.

Prehnite and Peridot: what's the difference?

Prehnite and peridot can sometimes be confused due to their yellow-green colors. However, they are two different minerals. Prehnite is a calcium and aluminum silicate, while peridot is the gem variety of olivine. Prehnite often has a softer color and a slightly milky or translucent appearance, while peridot generally has a brighter green and a different luster.

Prehnite and Jade: how to differentiate them?

Prehnite can also resemble certain varieties of light green jade. However, the term jade refers to two different mineral families: jadeite and nephrite. Prehnite has a completely different composition. Its often translucent appearance and its yellow-green tones generally allow it to be distinguished from the most commonly encountered jades.

Naturally unique baroque beads

Baroque beads have irregular shapes, unlike perfectly calibrated round beads. Each prehnite thus presents its own combination of shape, color, transparency and inclusions. Some stones can be very clear and translucent while others will have more green, yellow or natural inclusions. Each bracelet therefore has its own appearance and may differ significantly from the photographs shown.

Care instructions

To preserve your prehnite bracelet, avoid significant impacts, chemicals, perfumes and household products. For routine cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth, then carefully dry the stones. It is also preferable to remove the bracelet before showering, swimming or sports activity to ensure the long-term preservation of the stones and the elastic thread.
