The meteorites from Campo del Cielo fell to Earth approximately 5,000 years ago from the asteroid belt. The dispersal ellipse of the Class 1A meteorite extends between the Chaco Province and the Santiago del Estero Province. Campo del Cielo means field of the sky or also field of stars in Spanish.
