Larimar is a blue-colored variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic and Italy. Its color ranges from white to dark blue, including various shades of blue.
A stone of great beauty, this stone, also called the Atlantis stone, owes its name to Miguel Mendez, who associated his daughter's first name "Larissa" and Mar (sea in Spanish).
Today, there is only one mine left in the world, located south of the capital of the Dominican Republic.
