The name "Tectite" comes from the Greek tectos, which means melted.
This is molten rock ejected during the collision of a meteorite with the earth's crust. Under the effect of the impact the rock is vitrified, ejected and cooled quickly, hence the possible confusion with obsidian.
The composition of tektite differs. It contains elements of cosmic origin: nickel, platinum, iridium, cobalt…
In lithotherapy this stone invites us to sublimation, change, transformation and letting go.
