Yellow calcite is a variety of calcite, a mineral consisting primarily of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). This mineral is very common in the Earth's crust, but its yellow color gives it special properties and uses, particularly in lithotherapy and decoration.

• Color : Light yellow to golden yellow, sometimes with honey or amber undertones.

• Transparency : Translucent to opaque.

• Hardness : 3 on the Mohs scale (therefore quite soft and sensitive to scratches).

• Crystal system : Trigonal.

• Luster : Vitreous to pearly.

• Origin : It is found in various countries, including Mexico, Brazil, India and the United States.
