    Can malachite rub off on skin?

    A polished and well-maintained malachite does not stain. However, if the stone is regularly exposed to water or sweat without being cleaned, the copper it contains can leave a slight green mark on the skin, which is harmless but not very aesthetic. Regular cleaning with clear water prevents this phenomenon.
    Can you wear a malachite necklace every day?

    Yes, provided you take good care of it. Malachite has a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale, making it softer than most other stones. Remove your necklace before showering, avoid contact with perfumes and chemicals, and it will keep its luster.
    Why not use salt to purify malachite?

    Salt attacks the surface of malachite and can irreversibly alter its patterns. Prefer fumigation with white sage or palo santo, or simply place your necklace on a cluster of rock crystal for a few hours.
