🔎 What is Breschia Jasper?

Breschia jasper is a sedimentary rock composed of broken fragments of red, brown, or black jasper, welded together by quartz or chalcedony . This mixture gives a mosaic-like appearance, often reddish with white or gray veins.

It gets its name from "breccia," a geological term for a rock made up of agglomerated angular shards.

  • Composition: Silicon dioxide (SiO₂), with traces of iron oxides (which give it its red color).

  • Hardness: 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale.

  • Main deposits: Brazil, South Africa, India, Madagascar, United States.
