Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite found in the Dominican Republic and Italy. Its coloration varies from white to dark blue, passing through different shades of blue.
A stone of great beauty, this stone, also called Atlantis stone, owes its name to Miguel Mendez, who combined his daughter "Larissa"'s name with Mar (sea in Spanish).
Today, there is only one mine left in the world, located south of the capital of the Dominican Republic.
