Raw amazonite is a stone that immediately captivates with its color. Even in its natural, unpolished form, its luminous aqua green is already clearly visible, sometimes streaked with white feldspar lines that create a soft and natural contrast. It is one of the rare minerals whose raw color is as vivid and attractive as the polished version. Amazonite is a potassium feldspar whose green color comes from traces of lead and iron in its crystalline structure. It often crystallizes in compact masses or tabular crystals, found primarily in Madagascar, Brazil, Russia, and Colorado. The Egyptians worked with it over 4,000 years ago: amazonite scarabs and amulets have been found in tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
In lithotherapy, raw amazonite is valued for its energy of appeasement, harmony, and inner truth in its most direct form. Placed in a living space, it diffuses a gentle and constant serenity that calms the atmosphere. On a desk, it helps to communicate accurately and maintain composure even in stressful situations. Held in the hand during meditation, it opens the heart chakra and the throat chakra, creating a bridge between what one feels and what one expresses. It is also an ideal stone to place near a computer screen: tradition attributes to it the ability to soothe tensions related to screen work.
For care, a rinse with clear water and recharging in moonlight are sufficient. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade its green over time. With a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, raw amazonite can be handled without particular precaution.
