Hematoid quartz is a variety of quartz that contains inclusions of hematite (an iron oxide) or sometimes limonite or goethite , which gives it red, orange, yellow, or brown hues. It is a stone that is both visually beautiful and interesting energetically and symbolically.

Hematoid quartz is a little-known variety of quartz.
It is a mineral which belongs to the group of silicates, subgroup of tectosilicates, essentially composed of silicon dioxide. This variety of quartz surprises with its beautiful red, orange-red or yellow-orange color.

These magnificent shades are due to the presence of hematite and/or limonite inclusions.

For the record, hematite is a mineral species that contains iron oxide and traces of titanium, aluminum and manganese. Limonite is a cluster of microcrystalline iron hydroxides.
